Dia De Muertos

Hi friends I made a
Dia de los Muertos card or Day of the Dead.
I colored it with the traditional like colors and settings.

I distressed the background in two colors though it didn't come out as I liked. Added the tombstones. Colored and cut out the images and arranged and adhered  into place. Then lastly stamped the sentiment in place.

Will you be creating an alter in  both remembrance and  in celebration of your dearly departed loved ones?

Happy Halloween

Hello, I'm back with a not so spooky card.  I must say the die I used was like a puzzle after figuring out all pieces It was easy to put back together.

I distressed the pieces for the scene with Wilted violet and black soot. Sprinkled water on the bottom panel then metallic watercolor for the top portion.

Adhered all the bottom pieces to part of the top panel so it could have something to stick to. Continued to adhered the trees and colored images. Lastly embossed the sentiment and  adhere the rectangle border from the die.  I hope you like it.

Hello,  sharing a fall card.
I did some repeat stamping on this card once I  was done coloring I didn't like it. It looked to plain so I then decided to use my Tombow water markers. I had to be careful not to use to much water since this was not a watercolor cardstock

Happy Halloween

This is a late post  I created last week and I totally forgot about it,  plus I've been under the weather but today I feel alot better. Thank Goodness.

I used my Brother Scan and Cut machine to cut out the word on this top base slimline card. I used a pattern paper to back up the word.
I glued a  few leftover images from a different project . (I usually stamp several to have on hand).

Stamped the leaves around the top panel around the word cut out using three different colors

Splattered metallic watercolor on it, then added a few sequins.

Really simple and fun!

Have a great day!

Actually I'm under the weather  but still wanted to
play and I remembered I had this fun solid stamp set,  so I made a simple fall card. I hope you like it.

Sugar skull

Happy Tuesday!
Made my first Sugar skull card in honor of Dia De Los Muertos (translation Day of the Dead).

I  downloaded a free Rose ( flower) cut file from Sugcuts.com.  The skull, flowers and leaves are from my Brothers Scan and cut built in designs. The background was previously made with distressed inks.

I used several colors of cardstock trying to match colors up since some  flowers are layering pieces. Added gems and dotted white dots around the skull with a gel pen. Oh and I used Sizzix Brite-Ons shimmering paper for the Skull. Simple colorful and fun.

I hope you like it.

Boo!

Hi Happy Saturday!
Stayed up last night coloring up these cute Halloween critters. What can I say
I'm in the mood for fall.
I was inspired by Jess McAfee recent video tutorial.
I did a light wash of water over my cardstock (background) picked up some distressed Crayons I had scribbled onto an acrylic block.

Went back and forth several times , then picked up an additional color ( let dry). Went to darkened the top portion of the background. Then I die cut my spooky trees  and hill out( i also shaded in the hill).
Embossed the sentiments , glued the trees overlapping one, hill and the rest of the cute critters and accessories. Almost forgot to mention that I  went over the trees with a white gel pen .

I hope you like it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take note, I think your great!

Hello, hope your doing great
Sharing a card I made from a giveaway I won from Reverse Confetti Instragram giveaway. Stamp set called
School days.

This is pretty simple. I distressed the background for a dirt road and grass. Masking  each side off using a curvy border stencil.
I then die cut a piece of cardstock using a medium size rectangle die ,trimming the edges and bottom off. Making it look like a photo frame.

Trimmed my background to size, added foam tape to the photo frame. Placed my colored images to it then adhered to a card base.

I hope you like it.

Trick or treat

Hi everyone! You probably know by now that
I'm unable to interact on my instragram account (I have a action time ban).
Why? I do not know. For now I'll  make sure to post here as I cannot their, except in my stories.

It literally makes me mad and sad! (sorry for the rant)

In the meantime I want to share a Halloween card with you.

I started off by masking a large circle for a moon, so I can make a distressed background.
I die cut the tree and grass. Colored & cut the cute critter images with my( Scan and cut).
Then I adhered the main scene (tree and grass)with clear glue, used 3d foam squares for the cute critters.

Welcome back!

Happy Thursday! Hope you are having a great week so far.

My take on the Back to School challenge over at Lawn fawn. Also for the Shopping our Stash challenge -  #428 Color challenge and as usual over at Simon Says Stamps Instagram monthly challenge- Stamp it.

Come play along!

Went through my pile (lol), of stash.  Pulled out what I believe I could use for this project.  I knew I wanted a rainbow " of something " but I wasn't sure of what at that point.

Stamped out multiple images, colored them and die cut them out.

I cut a top panel of an older lawn fawn's fall 6x6 paper pad to an A2 in size.
I also die cut two additional pieces for the floor border and the floor. One in white and the other from the background woodgrain  stamp in the color gray.

I adhered the images some overlapping each other.  No rhyme or reason just placing them around randomly. I hope you like it. Until next time.

All paper, stamp set products are from Lawn fawn with the exception of the border floor die MFT.

Nuts about you.

I'm back! Sharing a slim line card I started to make sometime ago and I finally finished it. Yay, lol.

I used a branch stencil for the entire background. This was after I laid down an entire coat of distressed ink first. By that time I already had a piece of a grassy hill. I adhered it to the top panel. Then the colored images including the cut file of the Butterfly.

Wool always be friends!

I'm back with a very CAS card. I hope everyone is doing well.
I wanted to play along the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge Plus I wanted to play with a well loved stamp set.
I colored the images with both  distressed inks & with Prismacolor pencils, for a lil shadowing.

Die cut the top panel with a border die. ( I think that's what its call).
I then stamped the border in a stripe as you see here. Trimmed both peices to make a 5.5  top panel.
Yeah that's pretty much what I did.

Thank you.

Hello crafty amigos.
I hope you are all doing great and hope you had a fantastic week.

I'm back  with a card I made using the swiping technique.  It's also known as Swinking, lol. Sounds funny even to say it. You've heard of it.

Basically you swipe the ink cube across your cardstock. I watched a recent video tutorial for it. So much fun.

After I did the background I diecut a circle and stamped a sentiment. I then tucked the sprigs which were made way in advance ( cut file, from the scan and cut. I flickered metallic watercolors on them).

I adhered the sprigs with clear glue. Really simple, anyone can make this.

Wishing you a BEAUTIFUL day!

Hi friends. I'm back with a Slimline card. This is for the Home is where the heart is hosted by Tammy Stark (you might know her as @paperprettyboutique ). And being sponsored by Lawn Fawn  you have until August 28, 2020 to enter.

My home is S. California.  Where I wanted to represent our terrific  weather and seasons.  Mediterranean like climate with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Minus the earthquakes haha. Seriously the best, although we tend to complain when the temps drop.

Okay,  so first I stamped across the background panel on both sides using a small stamp  in three colors of ink. Then I die cut a hill in green cardstock and used distressed ink for a darker look. Then I stamped one part of the tree stamp masking one part of it off in order to stamp it again ( farther apart)  making it appear a wider tree. Added the cut files( apples, tree crown) and other images , adhere them with liquid glue.

Rock on!

Hello crafty friends and a Happy  Sunday to you.

I hope you are all doing well in your part of the world.  As for me well I'm trying to keep cool. It's been real hot here in S. California.

This card was inspired by the Midsummer blues challenge over at  the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge going on now.

I stamped my solid images then die cut them out with the coordinating die then I dried embossed the top panel. I layered that with a rectangle die ( for base panel) & added pattern paper.  I cut the sentiment , shadow and  musical notes with cardstock using my Brothers Scan and Cut electronic machine.

Back to School!

Hi friends and welcome back! Thought I'd commemorate my granddaughters back to school with this card! The school year 2020- 2021 will officially begin next week virtually that is.

I wanted to make a bright and cheery card. I used the  Brothers scan and cut design space to make all the images. No coloring or stamped images used.   It's all cardstock and patterned paper from my stash.

I hope that you have a great weekend and that I inspired you.

Thank you for stopping by. Be safe!

There's Gnome one like you

Hi y'all. I hope you are healthy and well.
Gnomes seems to be the current trend. So I had to jump on the bandwagon. Lol.

I knew I wanted to use happy colors for this card.

So I started off by repeated stamping with a cloud stamp ( upside down)for the ground alternating in colors overlapping . Then I Die cut a tree in light grey cardstock.
I also dry embossed the matte base in same color.

By then my images were stamped  and colored.

Last minute I  decided to color in leaves with a blue glitter gel pen.

Pretty simple with a pop of color. I hope you like it !

Stay safe & thanks for stopping by!

Another entry to the  Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge- Your favorite tool -WRMK die cutting machine. This is one of many fav tools in my crafty corner.

So I basically created a repeat  stamping for the background ( with one leaf).   I stamped directly then again without reinking the stamp for a lighter image until  the top panel  was all filled up.

. I came back with a small flower cluster from Stampin up - The Right Triangle stamp set and Crumb cake ink filling up the gaps.

Then added the  sentiment from Brother Canvas workplace.

You had me at pumpkin Spice

Happy hump day!
I hope everyone is doing great!
I'm back with a fall card and linking it up to the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge- Use your favorite tool.
Hands down my Brothers Scan and cut machine.
I started off by dry embossing the background then I added distressed ink in the color tumble glass. I also did  the bottom part in green for a grass look.

I already had some digital images printed  and sized to large but used it any ways. ( I didn't want to throw it away). The tree had two trunks I ended up altering it to just the one.
Stamped and colored the remaining images with my copics and cut them out with my electronic cutting machine.

Adhered all of the images with clear glue and matted on a plaid pattern paper.
Oh wait I did add some grass to finish it off. It looked to plain. And added the sentiment in white dye ink.

This is my last entry to the current Simon says stamps: Anything goes challenge.

I ink blended the background with Distressed Oxides in Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet and Tumbled Glass. I might of gotten a lil heavy handed (oh well).

I then die cut several colors of cardstock for the rainbow and the clouds.  Had a pre-cut grass (already cut & distressed in my stash).

By then my images were cut &  colored with copics. I heat embossed the sentiment in black embossing powder on Lavender cardstock . Adhered images & sentiment with foam tape.

Come on Baby, Light My Fire

Hi friends, It's been awhile since I posted here.  I hope you are all healthy and well.

I recently discovered The Cats Pajamas PaperArts website and the world of digis, well kind of!

I bought this really cute digi stamp set called Happy Trails. I knew I wanted to create a sunset if you will.

To make this card I started to blend the background with the regular distressed inks, Candid Apple at the top then Abandoned Coral in the middle added a lil Mild Honey for a sunset look. I also blended Mowed Lawn and Crushed Olive for the grass. I then die cut the top panel with Starry Skies Die then the grass. By then I had cut the digi stamps with my Scan and cut, colored them with various Copics and  Spectrum Noir Markers.

Then Adhere the first layer of grass with clear glue, then the second layer of grass with foam tape. So it wouldn't look flat.  Placed it on a A2 size brown cardstock. Assembled the images and glued them down.

Thank you for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Some more ink blending. But first I embossed the city buildings in black embossing powder. Inked the bottoms section then the top until they blended into each other. Splattered with black acrylic paint. Added my image then sentiment which was embossed with white e!bossing power.
